Urogynecology is a subspecialty of gynecology and urology that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor disorders in women. These disorders primarily affect the bladder, uterus, vagina, and rectum and include problems related to urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and fecal incontinence.

Pelvic floor dysfunction is common in women, especially after childbirth, aging, or pelvic surgery. Urogynecologists use a multidisciplinary approach involving physical therapy, medications, minimally invasive procedures, and surgery to restore normal function and improve quality of life.
